1. A Very Tasty Mayonnaise

Italian Chef Massimo Bottura, owner and head chef in the world-renowned Osteria Francescana restaurant in Modena, is in love with balsamic vinegar. He will use it on everything! The real balsamic vinegar can be an expensive product, mainly because it’s made in with traditional, labor-intensive methods.

Here’s Chef Bottura’s hack for you: Add a few drops of balsamic vinegar to your mayonnaise to create a flavorful dip that’s perfect with crudités; it’s delicious on burgers too!

2. The Perfect Poached Egg

Legendary French Chef Alain Ducasse is larger than life, he’s inspired thousands of professional chefs and home cooks alike and has held 21 Michelin stars during his career. Author of incredibly complex dishes, Chef Ducasse still believes in simple, but well-made food.

There’s nothing more straightforward and beautiful than a perfect poached egg. According to Chef Ducasse, to make a poached egg, heat water with a little vinegar just below boiling point. Then, crack an egg and pour it in a small bowl. Swirl the water with a spoon and add the egg while the water swirls.  The French chef says this method is so effective that you can poach 20 eggs at a time.

3. Cook the Tastiest Steaks

Chef Daniel Boulud is a French chef based in the States with fine dining restaurants all over the world. His most distinguished restaurant is Daniel, in New York City, but all of his projects gain immediate media attention and critical acclaim. 

Chef Boulud knows a thing or two about cooking steak, and he suggests always cooking beef steaks in butter. According to the chef, butter nourishes the meat, making it even richer and more intensely flavorful. When it comes to meat, at least for Chef Boulud, it’s butter or nothing at all. 

4. Easy Clarified Butter

Talking about butter, few things are more rewarding than making your own clarified butter and cooking everything with it. Julia Child, perhaps the most famous celebrity chef in history, not only appeared on TV, but she also wrote dozens of cookbooks. She practically invented cooking hacks.

Her tips are priceless, and she has one for clarified butter for you. To make clarified butter, boil and then pour through a tea strainer into a jar. It will keep in the fridge for months!

5. Ripe Fruit Every Time

Chef Gordon Ramsay is controversial but very successful. His TV shows are entertaining, but he has the skills to back up his fame. With several restaurants in the UK and the States, Chef Ramsay has a tight schedule, but he always has time to share some cooking tips.

If you have unripe fruit, place it in a brown paper bag with a banana and leave it in a dark place. The banana will help the other fruit ripen quickly.
